When Bachmätteli today is the last track for the new Tram Bern West was moved. Now the construction work completed and tested the functionality of the systems.
Several dozen onlookers watched in the afternoon at the Bottigenstrasse, such as "block 18 F.6" was used as the last track. Mit dem Tram in den Westen Berns soll einer der heikelsten Punkte im Schweizer Agglomerationsverkehr behoben werden. Die Trolleybusse kamen mit knapp 40'000 Passagieren pro Tag längst an ihre Kapazitätsgrenzen.
Ein «Bümpliz-Tram» stand schon zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zur Diskussion, fiel aber vor der Eingemeindung von Bümpliz 1918 ausser Rang und Traktanden. Erst in den 1990er Jahren nahmen die Behörden die Planung wieder auf; ein erstes, teuereres Projekt scheiterte aber 2004 an einer kantonalen Volksabstimmung.
Eröffnet werden die beiden tramlinien mit the numbers 7 and 8 at the timetable change on December 12, 2010 with a solid and rides with the oldtimer vehicles bern by tram from the club and steam tram club.
